Hi, J

http://www.overclockers.com/articles660/ indicates that Shin-Etsu g751 was
the worst performing of the 5 greases tested. Why did you choose that one ?

I haven't seen a comparison between pads and greases, although the article
at http://www.overclockers.com/articles662/ would indicate that greases,
with their thinner interface, have an advantage.

I tend not to question IBM's hardware engineering. But, by changing things
this way, you've ended up with a configuration that IBM doesn't have. Or do
you. Is there a similar configuration out there somewhere to what you've
built ?

You've certainly raised an interesting question.

Yours truly,

board. I've got a 1ghz chip I've just put in. I've decided to remove the
thermal pad and use Shin-Etsu g751(overclocker's special) thermal compound
instead. Would you guys agree with this procedue?

chassis. I'd love to put a higher speed board (Pentium 4) w/ wireless if I
could.
