An update with more data points:
Two recent trips where the DVD was inserted into my
T30 did not provoke any extra scrutiny.
My conclusion:
If you are travelling with TPad with a removable
device, travelling without the device inserted will
significantly increase your chances of receiving
additional scrutiny at the security checkpoints.
In other words, if you're running late, better to
carry the additional ~1 pound than to miss your
flight.
