I would make sure that the latest and greatest BIOS is installed. New
operating systems often require a BIOS upgrade to function correctly. I'm
not familiar with the T30 series but a BIOS upgrade is required for XP on a
600 series, HTH's.

Subject: [Thinkpad] Installing XP Pro on a ThinkPad T30 (2366-81U)
Hello,
I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on a ThinkPad T30 2366-81U. I've
completed the installation, but the ThinkPad freezes on first boot at the
XP Logo screen with the moving bar at the bottom. I have never
successfully booted XP on this laptop, though my previous installation of
2000 worked just fine.
I can boot only into safe mode from where I have installed the latest NIC
and Video drivers, along with the Windows XP Supplement file. These things
are to no avail, the laptop still freezes when trying to boot normally.
This was a clean install after deleting and formatting new partitions.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or have a solution?
Thanks for the help,
Phillip
