[Thinkpad] BIOS Vs Speedstep Vs Windows

Hi all.

I'm having trouble understanding the Config\Power section of my T23's BIOS.

I'd like to know which part of it actually matters.

The top part (AC power mode, Battery power mode, Processor speed, HD/screen
off timer) or the Intel Speedstep part ?
Maybe I'm missing something here, but since both "sections" contain
Processor speed settings, which one actually controls the processor ?

Something else appears confusing : AC and battery power modes can be set to
"Customize", but there's only one "Customize" section (right under them).
Does this mean one can't customize AC and Battery modes differently ?

Finally, do these BIOS settings prevail over IBM Power Management's settings
in Windows 2000 ?

If all this is explained somewhere, I apologize.

Thanks for your insight.

Sylvestre
