Hi,
I just did some window shopping at PC Mall and found the following:
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=157681
ThinkPad X31 SMB Notebook
Intel® Centrino® 1.3GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 20GB Hard drive, WIFI
Wireless, 56K Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, embedded security subsystem 2.0,
12.1" XGA Display, XP-Pro
The price ($1599) looks good, given it's the latest iteration of the
X-series. I was puzzled by the "SMB" extension: I had a look at the latest
tabook.pdf and there are indeed two new models (avail date: May 2003),
2884-BNU and 2884-BRU. The following comments can be found in tabook.pdf:
* These small and medium business (SMB) models are part of the IBM US
TopSeller Program
* The 2884 has a 1 year limited warranty
Question: are there any other differences compared to the normal X31
models than the shorter warranty?
Cheers, Dominique
