Bingo! The box had been opened on the bottom and re-taped.
I called IBM EasyServ and asked them about the warranty. The technician
I spoke with, Jean, told me to fax the machine's model and serial #, along
with proof-of-purchase to IBM Warranty at +1 (854) 491-2953 and they would
reset the warranty start date to when the machine arrived.
