Got my T30 from PC-Connection a couple of days ago. Decided
that I really preferred to have the built-in 802.11b since it was the
one item on my wishlist that would be difficult to do after-market.
So far, am very pleased with the build quality in general. My first
encounter with XP Professional has also been good overall. But
I've ended up with some questions:
1. Is the IBM Access software required in order to use the wifi?
What's the advantage of using that verus the simple connection
program built into the wifi software?
2. IBM has a "data migration" software for free download (plus
some other pay migration options). Is the free data migration
software worth it (there is no list that I can find anywhere within the
program itself that tells you what settings are being migrated. (I'm
looking for some shortcut to reloading all apps and data and
setttings "manually")
3. In general, do folks recommend any sort of data migration
program (for going from a dual boot Win2K/W98 system to an XP-
Pro system).
4. Will IBM send a recovery CD if I ask? I DON'T like the hidden
partition approach to recovery! (The first time I've encountered it).
That's all for the moment <g>
Thanks to all for all the help over the years!
Chuck
