I also use Orinoco Gold PCMCIA (and also USB) clients with a great many
Thinkpads, Netvistas, Vaios etc without a single problem.

But I would add one note of caution - not to expect the badged cards to be
mix-and-match with the Lucent/Agere Orinoco ones. The hardware is the
same and they all work equally well but the plug-and-play signatures may
be different so that the device drivers and Client Managers will not
automagically accept a card of the wrong marque. I negligently bought one
Avaya card (Agere - Avaya who can remember these letter jumbles?) and
found that I had to do an additional install to a Thinkpad which already
worked fine with the Orinoco brand. And so now that Agere is stuck on
that machine while all the other cards can be moved around at will.
