Re: [Thinkpad] TP240 Weird problems

Hi. Hate to sound really clueless, but where exactly is the CMOS battery
in the tp240? I don't see it listed at all on the hardware
maintenance manual. Is it a servicible item? Also, The suspend switch is
a key combo (Fn-F4). The biggest concern for me is not so much the bad
suspends as it is the intermittent lockups. It's odd, too. The keyboard
will work for the Fn-Combos (Dim the screen, mute the sound, put machine
on suspend) but the cursor will lock up at a single spot and the keys will
not respond. Eventually the keyboard buffer will get full and the machine
will beep at me. This happened in DOS, Windows 95/DOS 7.0 command prompt,
IBM PC diagnostics, and in Linux single user mode. And the odd thing is
that sometimes it'll go hours without the lockup (runs the stress test
fine with hours of system loads), and then all of a sudden it'll suddenly
lock up. And sometimes when I reboot it'll lock up on POST and often
inside the BIOS screen. BTW, if anyone has a fully functional tp240
system board for sale or trade, I'll all ears.
