I'm downloading (on a different computer) the latest drivers
from IBM, and I'm having trouble identifying the proper ones
for this modem.

Does anybody know the answer? Thanks.

Attempts that didn't work (fodder for more IBM docs bashing)
include:

Device Manager calls it a "Lucent WinModem" with driver 6.0.0.0

Thinkpad Configuration Utility is no help in identifying the
modem.

The IBM web site's COMPLETE product description for this model
is:

" ThinkPad T23 2648-LU7 support Product description

Based on 2648-2TU: PIII-M 1.0GHz (512KB),256MB RAM, 30.0GB HDD,
14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 8x-3.3 DVD-ROM, Modem(MPCI),
Ethernet(CDC), Win2000 "

The modem driver matrix gives four Lucent options which
are valid for T2* or T23 machines.
1. Lucent Mini PCI card
2. Lucent AL modem or Intel Pro/100 SP Mini PCI combo card
3. Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR (Mini PCI wireless/modem
    combo card)
4. Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR communications daughter
    card (CDC)

Well, I guess it couldn't be option 3 because the computer
isn't advertised to come with wireless, but that still leaves 3
possibilities.

The web site's Product Information > Technical
Specification does not mention modems at all.

and of course the printed docs that came with the machine are
vague.
