The battery on my Thinkpad 380z no longer holds a charge. It's probably
the IBM circuit that limits the number of cycles on a battery that has
kicked in. Therefore, it's either time to retire this reliable workhorse
or get another battery.
While I saw a very nice, WIDE SCREEN, AMD 2200+ based laptop at CostCo
for under $1200, it wasn't a Thinkpad. ;-( It's also much more expensive
than continuing to live with my 300MHz, 96MB, 4GB HD laptop that has
served me well for close to six years.
So my question is: Where can I buy another battery for my 380z that is
(a) likely not to be DOA and (b) is priced reasonably. I checked on eBay
and found two from "khalidsiddiqi" who appears to be a reliable seller.
The batteries are $50 starting bid and $75 to "buy it now". Is this a
reasonable price or can I do better elsewhere?
Thanks in advance.
