I sometimes have the same problem on my X22 under W2K. What usually helps
is restarting the DNS client in Services. It takes less time than the
procedure you've been using, so it would be worthwhile to give it a try.
If you are able to ping to (numerical) IP addresses, but can't access
domain names, it means DNS isn't working properly. I'm not sure what
causes DNS to die when suspending. Most of the time it stays alive,
though.
