Couple of things.
Make sure that your trackpoint is "auto disabled" in the Thinkpad
configuration program. That will allow input from the ps/2 port.
You may also have to disable the trackpoint systray daemon.
I use a Belkin OmniView SE 4 port device.

Subject: [Thinkpad] T30 / KVM problems (?)
For the past couple of years, I've used a 4-port Belkin OmniCube KVM switch
(F1D094) connected to a T20 and a desktop system. I recently -
successfully - added a new NetVista M42, and now I'm trying to add a new
T30. Every time I boot the T30 on my KVM-connected port replicator, I get
a mouse cursor that won't move, and I have to shut down using the keyboard
only. When I try to reboot, I don't get past the initial IBM ThinkPad
screen. I get the same behavior when I boot the T30 in the KVM-connected
dock where the T20 normally resides.
I first thought this might be a problem with the T30, but the same thing
happens at work, where I also have a KVM-connected dock. I've tried to
Google this problem, but had no results. I'm planning to call IBM
tomorrow, but I thought I'd first ask this group if anyone has seen a
similar problem, and if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Mike
