BlankMy new T-40 (2373 72U) comes with MS XP Professional and a 40GB drive, part
of which is a "hidden" recovery drive in lieu of recovery CDs. I'd like to
partition into C (for programs) and D (for data), but when I follow XPs
instructions to get through Control Panel to Disk Management, I'm told this:
"Right-click an unallocated region of a basic disk, and then click New
Partition . . . ." But I cannot figure out how to do that. I've clicked
here and there on that screen, which shows a disk in the lower pane, but I
cannot discover how to complete those instructions. Since I am the sole
owner and user, I have the necessary "administrator rights," I presume. One
source says I'd have to use Partition Magic or a similar program. My
ultimate aim is to facilitate backup. This unit does have a CD/RW drive.
Advice?
