[Thinkpad] Thinkpad 600 Moniter Resolution

I just recently purchased a thinkpad 600 for a friend and the moniter
resolution is very poor. Im sure Its running a 16 bit display but I
cant figgure out what to run. I tried to update the display but I
still cant get past the 640x440 display.
If I go to desktop properties its running a IBM 9513 T55A TFT Moniter
standard graphics pga adapter. VGA not the SVGA it should.
Any Ideas as to what should do?
