Definately sounds like the keyboard suspend switch. Buy a new keyboard on Ebay, they are as cheap as $10.00
Make sure only to buy a NEW item, NOT used

Hi, first sorry my lousy grammar...
My 760xd goes to suspend when i tied to boot from HD or with some ibm service disks.
But with W95 setup disk it stays on and bios tests it works fine i can use only FDD or cd rom because
both are multibay... I have put som paper into keyboard lock so because i heard that it could cause some
problem. Machine starts up from HDD or floppy but right after few seconds it shuts down and
won´t start again before i take off power cord or reset back of machine .
  Please help me
  Thanks -AP-
