An A21 might be a good choice for you. They are generally in the 800MHz
and up range, which I've found to be more than adequate for business
apps like you mention. My wife uses Dreamweaver and PhotoShop on our
A21p under Win2K and it works super. These can probably be had for the
upper end of your price range.
An example of A21p specs:
- P-III 850MHz
- up to 512MB (maybe more?)
- usually 20-32GB HD
- awesome 15" LCD
Someone offered one on the list a few days ago for about US$800, so
that's what I'm judging the prices by. Your findings may differ.
