The key question here is whether the card can work with your existing
antennas.

I replaced the ActionTec 802.11b mini-PCI card in my A30p with a Cisco
802.11b card--they both use the same antenna connectors and it was a simple
swap. (The ActionTec card worked fine, but I needed Cisco's LEAP
authentication to get into the wireless network at Adobe.)

802.11g uses the same 2.4 GHz frequency as 802.11b, so it can use the same
antennas. I haven't seen an 802.11g mini-PCI card yet, but it's hard to
imagine that anyone would make one that *didn't* work with existing notebook
antennas--surely they would want to sell upgrades.

802.11a operates at 5 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz, so it seems unlikely that
antennas made for 2.4 GHz would work well if at all.
