That's $700 or so USD? Oh, I think a Thinkpad T20 should be able to tie
you over. Load it up with 512MB of RAM and it should work out fine. My
last 2 laptops were 600/850MHz Dell Latitudes and they got my work going
until I got a new Inspiron 4150 to replace it (Sorry guys...Brand new
Thinkpad T31s are priced out of my range...That's why I own a Thinkpad 560
and a semi-working 240 for my everyday non-intensive use and they work
fine for me). I mean, hey, I am typing this out right now using a Thinkpad
560, and I have Office 97 installed here for typing up
documentation. You don't really need a powerful machine to get work done.
Just load it up with memory and don't push the edges of computation too
much.
