They give no padding on the top and side edges, where Thinkpad plastic is
least supported and most vulnerable. I had damage on one 560, and possibly
on another, which wouldn't haven happened in a sturdier case.
As for heat issues, I certainly had them with wetsuits, but of course I'm a
warmer climate where sufficient air flow for machines is a serious concern.
I still use them for travel situations where it is convenient to insert the
computer case in another case; for example, a laptop in a wetsuit fits
perfectly in the side pocket of one of my carry-on suitcases, so I can carry
them on as a unit, then slide out the wetsuit/laptop before the case goes
into the overhead bin.
Of course, the folio case under discussion is even worse w/r to protection,
since it is just nylon without the padding protection of neoprene (or
leather, as in the Levenger case). OTOH, it is likely better from the heat
POV.
