[Thinkpad] Thinkpad 240 Battery

I just bought a TP 240 from a computer show for $70. Really good deal
but the battery is horrible. Is there a specific place that I can get a
cheap battery? I am a college student and I don't have much money. I
have looked on ebay, and I am thinking that may be my best bet, but I
have heard that Lithium Ion batteries don't last more that 2-3 years
whether they are used or not. Any input? Thanks a lot.
