[Thinkpad] What is the build quality of the current model ThinkPads like?

What is the build quality of the current model ThinkPads like? I've
heard some pretty poor reports since IBM outsourced their
production... Are they still made in Mexico/US/Scotland? (I'm a little
wary about 'made in China' and my current A22p was made in Mexico and
it is very well built.)
What have your support experiences been?

Also, can the A22p be upgraded with internal 802.11[a/b|g]? (it has
the Ethernet/modem installed currently.)
