I can't vouch for how well it will work on the X24, but I've always had good
luck using a rubber cement pickup on other ThinkPads, including the 600 with
its painted palmrest. You can get a rubber cement pickup at any office
supply or art supply store. It's basically a block of congealed rubber
cement.
