Mostly PDA synch stuff, maybe programming your LEGO Mindstorm RCX
controller, and in Linux, PERHAPS to use your laptop as a huge remote
control for your household electronics. Well, you can always use it as a
lazy way to do very short distance, line of sight, peer-to-peer networking
on that 4MBps IR port.
