[Thinkpad] Why is T30 so heavier than T40

Hello all,

I am considering to purchase T30 or T40.
At the moment I can find faster T30 than T40 with all other options the same
(DVD/CD-RW; memory).

But why is T30 so ticker and heavier than T40? Is there any other option
which is not visible at the first glance?
When you compare their possibilities, they are almost the same.
