I just got the T-40 2379D5U. After about 10min, the fan starts and makes an incredibly annoying noise every 5sec, as if it hits something as it turns. I've noticed quite a few complaints on IBM's forum about it but the company has not done anything about it. As I am one of the previous owners of the 600E that had the battery problem, I am extremely annoyed with IBM pretending that nothing is going on with the fan. Any solutions? Have other owners of the Thinkpad T40 had the same fan problem?
