I had a similar problem and this repaired my T-21 Thinkpad button and also brought back the on screen graph for audio and screen brightness--good Luck!--Lewis Bailey

TP General - Hotkey Features for Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP
It's a Thinkpad T22 that's been fdisked, formatted, and had Win XP Pro
installed. All of the drivers and utilities for the machine have been
dowloaded from IBM and installed. The Access Thinkpad applet works from the
Icon, but not from the Thinkpad button. The registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\TPHOTKEY\8001 is pointing to the correct
directory and application (same as the desktop shortcut), yet pressing the
Thinkpad key results in a brief moment of disk activity and then nothing. Do
I have the right registry key for this machine? Do any of you have any other
ideas? All help would be appreciated.
