hmmm .... regret that I missed the picture, but by your descriptive
answer I may be able to fill in some details. It sounds very like a
photograph of the disk storage system that we in Hursley knew by the
codename 'dolphin' (named after one of the pubs in the village). If so,
then the YL was indeed not an operator at all, but a quite delectable
secretary named Pam.
