[Thinkpad] RAM & Battery questions (ThinkPad T-30)

Hello all:

I'm new to the list so please bare with me if I ask things that may sound
simple in your opinion............

I have had many notebooks over the years and recently purchased a ThinkPad
T-30 #2366-96U. Anyway, the unit came with 256mb of ram. I added to that
an additional 256MB of ram. (total 512) I utilize the computer for mostly
net surfing and some work in Word XP and QuickBooks.

Would there be a benefit in increasing the ram up to 778 or 1024mb. Would
the cost out way the benefit. In addition, anyone have a good place to
purchase the ram at a reasonable cost.

In closing, I purchased a second battery, however, I'm not very impressed
with the 2 - 2/1/2 hours I get out of either of the batteries. Do they sell
an aftermarket battery for this particular ThinkPad that would last a bit
longer......................
