Not at all. This is a trick I have been using for a few years. At first,
when I started on the Internet, in the middle of the 90's, my address
was something like first.lastname@ifrance.com. It took a couple of years
to get this address flooded by hundreds of daily spams (sex, used cars,
insurance and all that you sure know about!).

At that early time of spamming ( 96-97 ?), some senders started to put a
"nospam" in their address, with a "delete nospam when replying" in the
body of the msg. The wrong side was that it took no time for the
spamming bots to check if there was a "nospam" on the address and remove
it if any, so most of the corrected addresses were still reachable...

I finally thought: Why not simply have a pure true nospam mail address
and I created in 1997 my "nospamplease@ifrance.com" and till now, it has
worked fairly good as I suppose that the bots delete the 'nospam' part
of my address, making the remaining address totally unusable!

I still sometimes receives a few spam (may be 10 a month ?) and the only
spam reaching quite everyday my mailbox is the Microsoft virus "update
your system" or something like that, which proves, if needed, that
Microsoft is always doing things like no others! 8-)

Most of the time, people replying to a msg do not even read the mail
address,..they just hit "reply" and everything goes OK. Sometimes,
people read the mail address, but it's very rare that they correct the
nospam by themselve but it can happen.

So, in the many usenet forums I read, there is a a statement in every
msg I send which read:

(NB: This is a valid Reply-To. Do not remove anything)

As the Thinkpad group is a mailing list, not a newsgroup, I often
forgot it, so this is why this statement was missing. Sorry about it
(but as you see, it finally passed through as I received it ...2 times!

Happy New Year to all and long life to the list!

Regards,

Bernard

Oooops! I forgot:
