I have a 6007mo Toshiba "Hecho por Compaq" 2.5" disque dur that
came with my 560. The Thinkpad does not at all want to recognize this
thing. (I went into EasySetup, to no avail). It is as if it were not
connected at all. I have heard some talk on Google (always google for
something before asking) and I am quite confused / not convinced. I have
heard some talk on the Thinkpad archives telling me to cut the jumper
pins off? I don't know what doing that would do, wouldn't it leave me
just as it is now (since no jumpers on on the drive)? Perhaps I have to
make it jumpered, maybe the Thinkpad sees it as a slave? I should be
able to just solder the jumpers together, since I don't have the special
black thing.
Many apologies for what seems to have been a widely-discussed discussion
here, but hey, I am stumped.(and I'm the guy who got Windows Millenium
running on a (IBM) 486!)
