I've found all 7 of the Sony's I've owned to be durable, and as
reliable as my Thinkpads. BUt their support system is something to be
feared.
That said, I haven't been impressed with the build quality of the
TR series, which replaces the C1 Picturebook I'm writing this on.
Definitely a cheaper feel than the Sony's I've had. I'm waiting to see
how the X505 (which can be seen at www.dynamism.com) shakes out, then
I'll decide between that and a X-series Thinkpad.

Said by a neighbor borrowing a corkscrew, on my 1st day in a new apartment.
