that would have been smart, i suppose. we were at HICSS, the hawaii
international conference for system sciences. i'd forgotten that any of
the listfolk lived in hawaii - the only other person i know there teaches
at kapiolani (the spelling is likely atrocious on my part) comm. college.
we were in the southern part of Kona, commuting north to Waikaloa Beach
Hilton for the conference.
so, here's an on-topic comment. I wish IBM would make some more
PowerPC-style laptops ... but this time, around Apple's G5 chip.
I'd buy one ..... especially if the bus speeds and such were competitive
with the G5 towers currently out.
We're acquiring a dual-g5 Xserv in a couple weeks - if they can put two of
those in 1U of space, surely a laptop can't be far behind....
