well, some years ago, during the reign of the thinkpad 755 series there was
a remote that would talk to the Ir port..
so as to control the thinkpad while giving a presentation..
i had one such thing hanging around here until recently..
i either tossed it out or wrestled my secretary for posession all the while
screaming such words as "antique", "memorabelia", and "rare/valuable"..

i don't recall the outcome..

perhaps she won..
perhaps not..
