I have a WPC11 version 3. LinkSys is notorious for changing all kinds
of internal stuff and not changing anything visible, so it may be a
completely different animal.

As others have noted, the 380ED does not have CardBus slots.
However, the WPC11v3 is PC Card, not CardBus.

As I look at the LinkSys web page on this product, however, it is
clear that the WPC11v4 IS a CardBus card.

AFAIK, all CardBus cards have a gold-colored connector (both my
10/100NIC and 802.11g cards are CardBus), while PC Card have just
plain aluminum or steel edges, in addition to slightly different
edge connectors that make it very difficult to insert CardBus
cards in PC Card slots.

The image on the LinkSys page shows a gold edge and if you click
the link for Product Data Sheet, you will see the minimum requirements
call for a CardBus slot.

This card will not work in that machine.

You can get WPC11v3 cards from eBay, and they work splendidly
in Windows and Linux. Fedora Core 1 recognized the card instantly
with no need to even install a driver.

I don't know if there are any non-CardBus 802.11g cards, but there
are plenty of non-CardBus 802.1b cards. LinkSys even sells one
under their Network Everywhere brand, but that one uses a TI chip
for which there are no Linux drivers.

Best of luck,
Chris
