oh just remember not to confuse the click-click-click noise with the
recalibration noise that most ibm drives do every 30 seconds.

the 30 second noise is a short high pitched noise which stores
statistical data in a protected area. oh, and sometimes the
this data aren't stored if the drive is busy, so the noise
will only be witnessed while the drive has been idle for
some seconds. the death-click noise happens at all times, and
if it happens while you are accessing the drive you'll have
to wait for it to stop clicking.
