Modems are pretty much EOL, what would you want to upgrade one to? The one that

available for upgrades.

Scarcity drives the parts market, but that doesn't mean that the unit is EOL.
You _can_ put a 240X MB in a 240 case.
Granted, having to change the MB when the CMOS battery dies is a definite "what
were they thinking" moment!
