Any laptop drive should do. The interface on the 600X is UDMA-33, so that
will slow down the very fastest of drives, but not by much.
OK. I just looked at Intel's web site for the 440BX AGPSet, which is in
the 600X. It says that chipset can use UDMA mode 2, or ATAPI-4 which is
indeed 33.3MB/s. The documentation does not state directly the largest
capacity drive the chipset supports natively, but from its age I will gues
132GiB.

I had a 40GB drive with a 30GB partition running on my 600X under Win2K.
You should have no problems. Note that that bay is on the secondary IDE
controller if that matters. Hey, that means copying between TWO drives
could be faster than copying files on ONE drive.
