There are a variety of printer drivers out there that send their output
to a PDF file. One of these is Win2PDF (http://www.win2pdf.com/). Some
are free and some are shareware. I've tried Win2PDF and one or two
others and they do a good job at creating the PDF files. The good thing
is that they work from virtually every app that can print. For more
info, do an altavista (or google) search on 'pdf printer driver'.
Of course, your friend could always buy Acrobat. But if he/she doesn't
have a need to create complex PDFs or edit existing ones then that gets
to be an expensive option.
Enjoy!
