[Thinkpad] IBM Thinkpad and Sniffer Ethereal

Hi,

If you have the IBM Thinkpad and Wi-Fi Wireless LAN
device installed on the Thinkpad. You my like to
download the most well know sniffer application such
as Ethereal (www.ethereal.com).

- Install this ethereal. Make sure that your notebook
is connected to the network (Wireless Access Point)

- Try to capture the packets that transmit from your
Wireless , In other words, select the Wirelss Device.

- You will notice that it will not be able to capture
the packets via wireless. To my experiences, this
application works with any network card, Wired and
Wi-Fi wireless 802.11a or 11b, and works on any
non-IBM.

If you experience this matter, you may want to bring
the attention to IBM and request them to verify in
their lab. the important point is the ethereal works
on any non-IBM notebooks/PC and with any WIRED network
or Wi-fi Wireless, MiniPCI and PC cards
