[Thinkpad] [X30] Questions

My X30 arrived today (first TP I've bought new in many years), apologies
in advance for all the annoying newbie questions I intend to ask!

Here's another about floppies: there is a cable available for the T and
A series which lets one use a standard floppy externally off the printer
port. Will this cable also work on the X30? Can it be used on the
drives from earlier Thinkpads, like the 560 /570/600 series?
