Today I phoned IBM to get a set of recovery CDs for my new X30 (purchase
March 2). the support person told me he couldn't send them to me
because my machine was over 30 days old(!). After I subtracted 2 from
15 and came up with a number less than 30, he said that the warrantee
began the day my dealer got the machine from IBM, not the day I bought
it from my dealer. This is crap, and I told him so, and I asked to
speak to a supervisor. Instead of a supervisor, the same service guy
came back and said he was sending me the CDs as a special favor, but
that the warrantee started the month before and there was nothing I
could do about it.
Now of course I want to do something about it. Does someone have an
email address or phone number (other than the usual service number) I
can use to correct the warrantee status?
