The problem with built in is that you can't change the card to get better
performance, or compatibility with a specific game. Also, the memory is
shared with system memory, which is slower (although ALL AGP memory is
somewhat shared as to texture memory) and reduces the amout of system memory
available to programs.
That being said, in many cases the built in Video offered today works just
find for the intended applications - a dedicated gamer would never even
consider that system, as the specs are way too low.

I agree about the AGP slot, but it does have AGP graphics built in, so with
additional memory it can do games.
