RE: [Thinkpad] Driver/Firmware Updates

I'd love to say "Always get the latest" because that's whta I normally do,
but I have been shafted a high number of times for some reason with IBM
drivers/firmware. Sometimes the drivers address issues and other times they
add features. Like the latest BIOS for the T40-T41 didn't fix anything that
I was having a problem with but it added new boot-able options to the BIOS
list, so it was a nice to have. Then I flashed a HDD and that caued me
problems that I didn't have before AND found out afterwards that the
firmware wasn't support to be for my specific model number. So it can go
either way... my overall advice is that if you haven't done a thing and
everything is running, make an image of the drive and go to town on drivers.
Firmware usually is NOT uninstallable, but the drivers are...

I guess my advice is go with caution cause there be dragons lurking :)
