I found the same when I bought an X23 to replace my 560. After a few
days I returned it, even though it was much faster and the screen much
larger. I just hated the slightly narrower pitch on the X23 keyboard
(which is probably the same as the X30) and love the 560 keyboard.

I then transplanted the 560 keyboard into a 560X (my current machine)
and was very happy until the keyboard finally gave up the ghost and I
had to replace it. The replacement keyboard is a bit stiffer, so I'm
not as happy with it, but it's still better than almost any other
keyboard I've used (except the ones on old Sun workstations).

People on the this list have said that the 600-series keyboards are as
nice as (or nicer than?) the 560 or 560X keyboards (I found the 560Z
keyboards too stiff). I'd be curious to hear more details from any
(dis)satisfied people who use 600-series machines for lots of writing.
I imagine that'll be my next machine, although if the soon-to-arrive
128MB SODIMM EDO works in the 560X, it's useful lifetime will
increase.
