This is my findings as well. What is nice about both my ISP and Netscape is
that it learns what Spam is good as well. I like getting my TigerDirect
spam (though my wife probably thinks otherwise ;) ) for example. In the
first few days after tuning it on, I had to go into the deleted spam pile,
and find the good ones. After about a week, I was getting all of the mail I
wanted and only a little bit of the mail I did not want. It's not perfect,
but for not paying a cent, I have a great system! I have no problems
deleting 6 spam messages a day - only I don't have to delete them. All I do
is call them spam, and it automatically goes to my junk mail folder. In 15
days it's deleted! If I have to, I still have the spam to go through on
both the ISP and my junk mail folder within a 15 day window! So far it's
worked well.

Then you really need a SPAM tool like the one in Mozilla/Netscape. I
almost never have a falsely accused e-mail message (out of 10 active
accounts). On my heaviest e-mail account (the administrator e-mail for
a web site I maintain), which gets about 100 SPAM messages a day, I
don't think I have ever had a real message get pegged. And I do look
through the SPAM folder each day before deleting it, so I would see any
valid ones. These new filters are really that good. They learn and
adapt as time goes on.
