It's doubtful. If anything was going to get physically damaged I'd
think the paper of the label would go first. The main harm of using it
while rubbing is that it might not run at the right speed (and therefore
be unreliable) and it could eventually wear on something inside the
drive. A couple spin-ups shouldn't be enough to do any damage.
