[Thinkpad] OT: Ques for the Audiophiles of the list wav or mp3

Sorry for the OT post, but as usual, the knowledge of the TP list is most
trusted.

Of the two formats, *.wav or *.mp3, Is there a perferred file format for
burning music CD's?

Burning with TP ultrabay CDRW
Wish to play in standard car CD player.
