and TIA. When listing the PC's hardware under device manager I observe that
the ide controller is listed under SCSI/RAID controller (as opposed to the
correct IDE Controller) and under properties there is no tab for removing
this. This appears to be a legacy of a NT4 upgrade, since a fresh install
does not demonstrate this problem. Is there a means either through the
registry of via file(s) removal (winnt\inf) to force the issue?
