[Thinkpad] a20m start issues

Hi,
 
I bought a a20m and in the last month or so it started acting up. If I press
the power button, the LED just blinks and the hard drive give a short chirp.
After trying for some time, it will start up and act as if nothing has
happened. I am confused. Connecting the power cord has little effect, except
the battery light turns orange. Usually after it starts up, may battery is
at 100%
 
any ideas, is my motherboard messed up
